United Kingdom Air Ambulance Service Chooses Air Science UV-Box to Help Protect from COVID-19 Contamination

In support of global operations in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Air Science is helping first responding agencies who are continually concerned with the health and safety of their personnel. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and as more attention is focused on equipment and PPE protection, the Cornwall Air Ambulance service based in Cornwall, UK is taking an aggressive approach to contamination control with the Air Science UV-Box.

Working with a grant from the Lions Club International Foundation, the Cornwall Air Ambulance team is one of several organizations funded to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The service recently received two Air Science UV-Boxes to decontaminate flight helmets, clothing and medical equipment. These high-efficiency UV chambers are designed to create light emission conditions known to safely decontaminate contents through the use of high-intensity ultraviolet lamps, positioned within the cabinet to destroy surface DNA, bacteria and other contaminants.

These two UV-Boxes allow the Cornwall Air Ambulance crew to disinfect multiple items simultaneously, enabling the aircraft and crew to be operational and ready for the next mission as soon as possible.

For more information on how the Cornwall Air Ambulance organization themselves reported the UV Box operation and benefit visit the local story published in England.
